Grounded in the Gospel message of Christ and as partner in the mission of the Church, with inspiration of Marian ideals and charism of St. John Mary Vianney, we adhere to the total development of young men and women by providing them competent, committed and responsive staff, innovative educational programs and functional facilities that would prepare them to become productive and responsible citizens of the global society.

General Objectives

Through its programs, Notre Dame of Upi seeks to develop students with the following qualities/attributes:

1. Develop a reasoned commitment to the goals of national development by cherishing, preserving and developing moral and spiritual values and other aspects of the national heritage desirable in the Philippine society.

2. Understand the wide possibilities of arts and sciences as permanent sources of pleasure and profit, and discover, broaden and brighten his abilities in the appreciation of them.

3. Acquire further skills in thinking, speaking and writing and developing the ability to react intelligently to mass media and other situations.

4. Obtain experience and form desirable attitudes for understanding himself, his own people and other races, thereby promoting a keen sense of family and of national and international communities.

5. Demonstrate understanding, acquisition and application.

Specific Objectives

1. Be academically prepared for higher education.

2. Be matured, responsible and self-disciplined persons;

3. Adopt and respond to the changing needs and conditions of the time.

4. Respect one’s beliefs, culture and practices of religions regardless of gender or social state.

5. Be aware of their potentials and limitations as persons and conscious of their obligations to contribute these attributes to their families, church and the state.

6. Be appreciative of their culture expressed in history, art and literature and perceptive of current social realities and dedicated to promote national ideals; and

7. Be equipped with skills which enable them to function as responsible citizens and globally competitive.

ND Upi Philosophy of Education
